Our Story
Meet Your Instructor
Megan Biddlecomb is a Pilates Instructor nearing the end of the Balanced Body Comprehensive Certification program through Coreworks Fitness in Columbia, Maryland. She was first introduced to Mat Pilates almost 20 years ago as part of ballet summer intensives, and first introduced to the Pilates Reformer in 2015 as part of physical therapy for an ankle injury. Megan loved Pilates from the start, but didn't find quality classes locally available for consistent practice until 2021, when she moved near a Pilates studio. Since then, Pilates has remained a fundamental part of Megan's life.
Megan was born missing her right arm below the elbow. Growing up dancing, Megan often struggled to properly engage the muscles on the right side of her back and under her right arm. She tried things like using an ankle weight on her arm for strengthening exercises, which helped, but never fully reinforced engagement of the muscles. Over time, Megan created a rather large imbalance between her right and left sides, impacting both muscle tone and posture. She also began to develop wrist issues due to overuse. Upon diving into Pilates, and especially the Reformer, Megan found she was able to activate those muscles on her right side previously inaccessible. With the help of her instructor, Michelle C., she identified different tools and adaptations to open up a world of exercises. This has allowed Megan to work through some of these imbalances and grow in not only her Pilates and ballet practices, but assist with every day life. Her wrist pain is nearly non-existent, posture improved, and she is stronger than ever!
Megan's experience has caused her to become passionate about helping others find how to best take advantage of Pilates. Everyone has imbalances - whether caused by a physical disability, everyday life, repetitive sports motion, or past injuries. Megan strives to help others learn about their bodies and improve functional movement for everyday life- regardless of what that life may look like.
When not doing Pilates, Megan is currently a stay at home mom to her son born in 2025. She previously was a Software Engineer, but after over 10 years found sitting behind a laptop all day wasn't for her, and has since left the industry. She is still a ballet dancer, and takes class weekly. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her husband and baby, binging TV shows, sleeping (which is rare now, thanks to the baby), and enjoying the outdoors when it's warm out!
The Story
I was first introduced to Pilates through my ballet training.
Due to an ankle injury, I began using the Reformer in PT and fell in love.
After years of wanting to do Pilates, I finally moved near a Pilates studio and began taking Pilates classes on a regular basis.
I enrolled in the Comprehensive Pilates Teacher Training Program through Balanced Body.
Following the birth of my son, I made the decision to leave the Software Engineering world to become a SAHM, and eventually Pilates Instructor.
Anchored in Motion LLC opened its doors in Severna Park, MD.
I'm working towards completion of my Comprehensive Pilates teacher training program (consisting of 520 total hours), including 220 student teacher hours. I look forward to completing this and receiving this certification in the near future!
